Published: 10/16/2009
The Greater Omaha Young Professionals (Young Professionals), a program of the Greater Omaha Chamber, are excited to announce the upcoming Your Omaha 2020: Building a Young Professionals Vision for our Community on Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 6:30 - 9 p.m., at the Holiday Inn Omaha Convention Center Hotel, 3321 S. 72nd St. Register today.
Attendees will have the opportunity to incorporate their ideas into a common vision for Omaha by 2020.
"Whether at the Young Professionals Summit or at community events like the mayoral debate, we keep hearing similar themes about what is important to Omaha's young professionals" said Lee Denker, a Young Professionals Council member and UNO's Alumni Association president.
"Your Omaha 2020 will give young professionals a chance to build on those common values and turn them into vision statements with specific goals and action-oriented steps," he added.
Your Omaha 2020 will be an interactive evening of lively discussion and decision making. The Young Professionals are partnering with several local young professional organizations to attract many participants representing a wide variety of professional fields.
"We want to encourage Omaha's young professionals to attend this important event, in particular those who may not have attended events like this before. Their perspective is important, " said Beth Katz, a Young Professionals Council member and executive director of Project Interfaith.
The visions developed at Your Omaha 2020 will be incorporated into the 2010 Young Professionals Summit. Find out more about the summit at OmahaYoungProfessionals.org/YPSummit.
