Published: 4/12/2010
Young professionals are the future of our city, so let's get involved in the financial planning process to ensure Greater Omaha continues to be a dynamic community to live, work and play. Attend one of the many community budget forums scheduled in April. The forums, hosted by Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle, are designed to seek public participation in the drafting of the preliminary 2011 General Fund Budget.
How much of the city of Omaha budget will be spent on arts and culture, community development or public transportation? How much on potholes, snow removal and libraries?
You help pay for it. Find out where your money goes, and why.
Plan to attend a budget meeting. Be sure the city's priorities include YOUR priorities.
Learn and be heard!
