Proposals Now Being Accepted for 2011 Young Professionals Summit

The 2011 Young Professionals Summit will be on Thursday, March 3, from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at Qwest Center Omaha. This day-long event is organized by the Greater Omaha Young Professionals, a program of the Greater Omaha Chamber.

In preparation for the Summit, area young professionals, community leaders or experienced professionals are encouraged to submit proposals for either or both of the options below:

1. Break-out session proposal
Present a 20-minute, a 45-minute or 90-minute interactive break-out session at the event. A list of possible presentation topics is below, however presenters are permitted to chose their own topics.

  • Personal and professional development
  • Community and civic responsibility
  • Business start-up and development
  • Health and wellness

2. Community activity proposal
Present a highly interactive walk-up experiential presentation that lasts no more than 5-10 minutes. These presentations should give attendees an opportunity to experience or learn about a new aspect of Omaha. A list of possible presentation topics is below, however presenters are permitted to chose their own topics.

  • Hands-on service project experience
  • Interactive art experience
  • A visual tour of Omaha's unique communities
  • A look at Omaha's past, present and future possibilities
  • An experience that highlights Omaha's unique aspects (i.e. performing arts, music scene, cultural diversity, night life, etc.)
  • Discover how Omahans give back to their community

Finalists will be selected no later than Friday, Oct. 15. Finalists will meet with members of the Young Professionals Programming Committee before Friday, Nov. 12. The final selections will be made by Friday, Nov. 19.

The Summit provides an opportunity for thousands of young professionals, community and business leaders to come together in an open learning environment to discuss how to bridge generational leaders and community issues affecting Greater Omaha's young professionals.
