Legislative Summit

Young Professionals are invited to attend the Legislative Summit, as well as the special YP event that will be hosted by various young professionals organizations from across the state, at the end of the Summit.

The Legislative Summit will be on Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 7:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Strategic Air & Space Museum, 28210 West Park Highway, Ashland, Neb. Members of the delegation who will attend include Sens. Ben Nelson and Mike Johanns, and Reps. Lee Terry, Jeff Fortenberry and Adrian Smith. The YP special event will be from 2 - 4 p.m. at the same location.

2 p.m. Governor's address to young professionals
2:30 p.m. Panel of elected and involved young professional political representatives
The goal of this session is to provide young professionals the opportunity to engage with a small, diverse panel of elected and involved young professionals. The discussion will provide attendees information on the following: getting involved, understanding the process, promoting leaders, resources within politics, etc.
3:30 p.m. Breakouts to discuss governor's objectives for Nebraska YPs
The goal of this session is to provide recommendations to Gov. Heineman and other elected officials as far as retention and attraction for Nebraska.
4 p.m. Networking reception
